Elgin Valley Railway Wine Festival

Loading Events
The Railway Wine Festival is steaming into the beautiful Elgin Valley from 24–27 April 2026 – and this year, it’s more than just a festival, it’s a full experience best enjoyed with a stay at Trail’s End Adventure Hotel.

Hosted at the vibrant Elgin Railway Market, the festival brings together exceptional Elgin wines, delicious local food, live entertainment, and the nostalgic charm of rail travel – all set against the valley’s breathtaking scenery.

Adding to the magic, Ceres Rail Company will be offering return train journeys from Cape Town, departing on Friday, 24 April and returning on Monday, 27 April (a public holiday), making it the perfect three-night escape in the valley. Guests can also hop aboard from Bot River on both Saturday and Sunday, with multiple return trips to the market.

For those already exploring Elgin, there’s the unique option of taking a one-way train ride to Bot River and cycling back through the valley – with a well-earned stop for pizza at Paul Cluver Wine Estate along the way. Even better, a dedicated goods van will be attached to the train all weekend, allowing guests to bring their bicycles along for the journey.

Make the most of the weekend by booking your stay at Trail’s End – your base for adventure, relaxation, and easy access to the festival, trails, and everything Elgin has to offer:
