In 2026, Elgin Open Gardens celebrates its 26th year, welcoming visitors to explore 11 gardens across the valley over two spring weekends.
Each garden offers a different glimpse of Elgin – from established gardens and woodland walks to roses, indigenous planting and working nurseries. Plant sales will also take place at selected gardens, and every garden is supporting charities of its choice.
Participating Gardens: Auldearn, Elgin Vintners Guest House, Fairholme, Fresh Woods, Houw Hoek Outspan, Keurbos Nursery Garden, Lavenham, Sonop, The Stone Kitchen, Wildekrans Country House, Windermere.
Make a weekend of it. Plan your garden visits, then take time to explore the valley’s Wines of Elgin tasting rooms and discover the wines shaped by this cool-climate region. Opening hours vary, and some tastings need to be arranged in advance, so check ahead when planning your route.
